Checking the battery life of your AirPods is crucial to making sure they’re always fully charged when you want them to be. Luckily, it’s easy to check your AirPod battery without having to open the case on them—here’s how. It’s also possible to prolong your AirPods battery life by keeping them in their charging case while they aren’t being used and ensuring they’re always kept in optimal conditions. Here are some tips on doing that and more as you learn how to check your AirPod battery life and get the most out of it!

Checking Battery Life on Your iPhone

To check your battery life, open the Settings app and select Battery. This will show you how much battery is left on your device as well as the time remaining before you need to charge it. If you see a red battery icon with a lightning bolt next to it, this means that your device needs charging right away. If the percentage is less than 20%, then you will need to plug in your iPhone soon.

Checking Battery Life in the Batteries Widget

If you’re using a compatible Apple device, you can check the battery life of each AirPod by opening the Batteries widget in the Notification Center. To open the Batteries widget, swipe down from the upper-right corner of any screen. Tap on either left or right AirPod (depending on which one you’re wearing) for more information. If an AirPod is at less than 25% capacity, tap and hold to see instructions for charging.

Checking Battery Life in Settings

If you need to know how much juice is left in your AirPods, open the Settings app. On the top right of the screen, you’ll see Battery. Click on Battery and scroll down until you see AirPods. The first field will show how many hours of listening time is left on one AirPod, and the second will say how many hours are left in total for both. If there isn’t enough battery time for what you need, consider charging them up or switching them out.

What to Do When Your AirPods are Running Low on Battery

It is advisable you turn off your airpod or charge it when the battery is running low. Else, the battery would gradually weaken.
